Interested in fostering or adopting? Our process includes the basics: the completion of a foster/adoption application which will be reviewed by our Board of Directors, a phone interview (or several) to get to know you a little better and to help you get to know the breed and, a home visit will also be conducted (we may enlist the assistance of a rescue group or shelter in your area to assist us with the home visit). Thai Ridgeback Dogs are not the dog for everyone and we strive to ensure our rescue dogs are placed in the best homes possible. In some cases, it may be necessary for you and your family to visit with the dog several times prior to transferring the dog to your home- this is particularly important with some of our more shy candidates.

What does it take to foster or adopt a Thai Ridgeback Dog? First and foremost, you must have patience, finding a good match for you and your family takes time as there are not that many Thai Ridgeback Dogs in need, and the dogs that are looking for a new home generally have behavior issues or are extremely shy - it is the nature of the breed and completely normal. Oftentimes, the dogs we have available were purchased by owners not truly prepared for "life with a Thai Ridgeback Dog", and this is how they come to us. Many of our dogs are not used to having structure and love, just like any other breed in rescue, and this is usually all they need to come around. This may be more of a challenge than a puppy, but rescuing a Thai Ridgeback Dog is sure to be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.
